Christopher Lockyer

Christopher Lockyer is the driving force behind Committed 2 The Core Coaching. He has been paddling since 1994 and has paddled in UK, New Zealand, Iceland, Norway as well as countless places in North America.

He graduated from Acadia University with a Recreation Management degree with a major in Outdoor Recreation and Environmental Education in 2000 and presently works as a GIS specialist in Halifax, Nova Scotia.

Christopher Lockyer holds certifications with the BCU, Paddle Canada, Wilderness Medical Associates, Canada Ski Patrol, Emergency Health Services first responder, Handheld radio operators license, Emergency procedures, survival methods and many other outdoor related certifications.

Kevin Gallagher

He understands the importance of Core skill development. He will work with clients to help them reach their potential and during their process will develop a solid foundations to build upon. Kevin has many tricks in his tool box that help create safe and enjoyable learning environments for all students.

Kevin works as a professional Fire Fighter in Halifax. His many years with the fire service have provided him with invaluable skills. He brings a great deal to the table

Kevin Gallagher holds instructional certifications with Paddle Canada, participates in courses with the BC Sea Kayaks Alliance as well as many outdoor related certifications and trained skills. He is a skilled and talented paddler and is a welcome addition to Committed 2 The Core's team.

Kevin Gallagher

Jamie Maillet

JJJamie has been kayaking since 1998, coaching since 2006 . He is passionate about sea kayaking and driven to reach his full potential as a sea kayaker and as a coach.

Jamie is a professional firefighter in Saint John, New Brunswick since 2001. He holds certifications with Paddle Canada, the Lifesaving Society, the Canadian Power and Sail Squadron, The Canadian Red Cross, and the International Association of Firefighters.

He graduated from UNB Fredericton in 1999 with a degree in Physical Education majoring in Recreation and Leisure Studies.  He has served on the Paddle Canada Board of Directors since 2008 and on the Atlantic Paddling Symposium Committee since 2009

Peter Lavigne

Having travelled throughout North America in the pursuit of outdoor experiences, Peter takes the greatest pleasure in paddling the Bay of Fundy.
 

Since taking up seakayaking in 1998, Peter has challenged himself to become the most comlpete paddler he can be. Becoming a coach in 2006 continued his growth as a paddler, with Peter taking great satisfaction in sharing his love for the sport with others seeking to enhance their skills.

Peter has been a professional firefighter with the Saint John Fire Departmant since 1993 and has formal training from Paddle Canada, the Canadian Power and Sail Squadrons, the Life Saving Society, the Red Cross and Yamnuska Mountain Guides

Tommy Boutilier

Tommy has been sea kayaking since 2004 and has enjoyed paddling many panoramic coastlines around the atlantic provinces. He is especially partial to the coastlines around Cape Breton Island.

Tommy graduated from the University College of Cape Breton with a Bachelor of Arts Community Studies Degree (Sport Option) and a Recreation Leadership Diploma  From the Nova Scotia Community College- Truro Campus. He has worked with youth at risk for the past ten years in both residential and wilderness settings in Alberta and Nova Scotia.

Tommy possess a Level 2 Paddle Canada Skills certification as well as  a Flat water Instructors Certification. In addition Tommy has certifications in wilderness fist aid, VHF radio, Pleasure Craft Operators Course, Navigation and has a vast background in wilderness tripping with youth at risk.

Krista Wuerr

Krista graduated from Dalhousie University with a Master of Architecture. She current works as an architect.

Krista is passionate about surfing the Shubenacadie River. Krista is at home on the Tidal Bore. If you want to watch the master she is the one to be watching. She has paddled in BC, Bay of Fundy, Newfoundland, Eastern Shore.

Kristas is currently certified with BCU as a 4 Star and Paddle Canada Flat water Instructor with level 4 sea kayak skills.

Krista is a former member of the National Biathlon Team. Krista brings a great deal of knowledge to the team. She has been coached by Olympic coaches and can pass that knowledge along to paddlers.
