HALF AND FULL DAY PROGRAMS

Listed belew you will find a list and descriptions of all the half day and dull day programs that we offer.  We would be happy to organize a private program. The minimum number would 3 participants in order to un any of the programs listed below

Pool sessions

$35 $50 or $80

Group Size: 6 people

Difficulty: Beyond the Basics

Location: Centennial Pool, Halifax

Pool Session time: 7:30 to 9:30 pm

We have three options for Pool sessions

  • Self Guided – Practice your skills: $35 Come work on your own skills under the watchful eye of our coaching staff
  • Sea Kayak rescues session: $50 join us in the pool for a formal session on kayak rescues. We will focus on solo and group rescues in a conformable warm pool
  • Rolling Coaching – Learn to Roll: $80 The sessions will then work through the rolling progression. The session is designed to develop your overall stability in a sea kayak. We have developed a program that will take you through a progression to learn edging, bracing and support strokes.

Sea Kayak Surf Session

Location: Clam Harbour Beach

Surfing a kayak can be a very enjoyable experience but requires a great deal of control, technique, and understanding of wave and how they form. The focus of this program is using your sea kayak in the surf. We will cover beach safety, launching landing, timing, surfing techniques, reading waves and more. This program is ideal for anyone wishing to take part in a Paddle Canada Level 2 skills course

Rough Water Confidence

Location: West Dover

Taking your sea kayak into the rough water might be a little intimidating but it does not have to be. During the program, we will work on build confidence in a rough water environment.  The program will be structured in a way that we will progress from calm conditions and we will build confidence during the day working in a variety of different conditions.

Shubie Tidal Bore

Location: Maitland - Mouth of the Shubie River

This program has been designed to solidify your ability to paddle in dynamic moving water. The Shubie tidal bore is a unique paddling destination that is only paddled by a select group of paddles. It truly is a magical paddling place. Participants will be able to work on timing, placement on standing waves, effective paddling in current, weight transfer and balance in the bumpy water. We will also work on reading moving water, rescues in rough water, plus much more.

Shortts Lake Evening Program

Difficulty: Beyond the Basics

Location: Maitland - Shortts Lake Colchester County

Join us for an evening on the water where we will explore and learn the skills necessary for you to kayak on many of the lakes and inland waterways that we have in Nova Scotia.  The sessions will focus on welcoming you to the world of kayaking using the tranquil calm of Shortts Lake. This program is perfect for anyone who is just getting into kayaking or want to build skills to control your kayak. The sessions will run from 6:00 pm to 8:30 pm

  • Wet exits and how to rescue a friend

Kayak rental available for this evening session. $30 includes, PFD, shirts, paddle and kayak

Monthly Lighthouse Trips

We want to provide an opportunity to get like-minded paddlers together for a great day on the water. Each paddle will visit one of the many lighthouses in Nova Scotia. Under the watchful eye of a Team Core member, we will have a fun-filled day on the water. The opportunity for micro-coaching sessions along the way is an option but not a requirement.
